This year as a special thank you to everyone who purchases an Elegant Themes Membership during our Cyber Monday Sale (and to our wonderful Lifetime customers!) we’ve created several exclusive gifts from our staff to you. In this post, we’ll show you how to download the pack and use it on your very own Divi website today.

A Look Inside the Exclusive Cyber Monday Theme Builder Pack #3

No Licensing Restrictions! Download & Use this Pack’s Images for FREE!

The photos included with these templates have no licensing restrictions. This means you can use them in all of your commercial projects without having to worry about paying licensing fees or attributing the photographer. Use them in your commercial websites, sell them within your Divi child themes, include them in your own Divi layout packs, or just use them on your blog. We know how challenging it can be to find good photos and how confusing and scary the licensing that governs those photos can be. We want to fix that problem for our users.

How to Download and Use the Theme Builder Pack on Your Own Divi Website Today

Downloading the Pack from the Members Area

All of the Theme Builder Pack downloads can be found in your members area. To access the downloads, you must first login to the members area with the username and password created when you signed up as a member.

Once you are logged in, click the link on the far right of the members area menu called “Black Friday/Cyber Monday Perks“. Then, scroll down and click the “Download the Pack” button to download the Theme Builder Templates.

Once the file has been downloaded, unzip the folder and open it. Find the folder named “Black Friday 2020 Theme Builder Pack 3” and open it. There you will see a total of 9 JSON files included. Eight of the files can be used to import each of the templates individually.  One of the files called “All Templates” can be used to import the entire Theme Builder pack (all the templates) to your site at once.

Backup Your Existing Theme Builder Templates First

Importing theme builder packs to your website will have an immediate global impact on the design of your entire site. So, we recommend that you download a backup of any existing theme builder templates on your site before importing the new Theme Builder Pack.

To download a backup, click the portability icon at the top right of the Theme Builder. In the portability popup modal, under the export tab, give the export file a name, choose to “export all templates”, and click the Export button.

Importing the Theme Builder Pack Templates to Your Site

Importing the Theme Builder Pack to an Empty Theme Builder

If you have a site without any theme builder templates, your theme builder is empty and ready for a new Theme Builder Pack.

Import the new Theme Builder pack templates, navigate to Divi > Theme Builder. Click the portability icon at the top right of the page.

In the portability popup modal, select the import tab and choose the JSON file you want to upload from the folder.

The simplest way to get all the new templates added to your site is to choose the complete “All Templates” JSON file. This will add them all at once. However, you can also choose to import individual templates using the other JSON files in the folder.

Since you don’t have any templates currently installed on your site, don’t worry about the options to override existing templates.  Simply click the import button.

This will import all the templates included in the pack to your website with the assignments in place.

There will be two templates that are unassigned. These templates are a second post and product page template included in the pack.

If you want to use the second post template on your posts instead, you can open the settings for the Post 2 template.

Then assign the template to “All Posts”. You will see a warning that this will override another template assignment. This is what we want to do so click the save button.

The second post template will now be assigned to all posts on your site. The same approach applies to the second product page template, but instead choose “All Products”.

Importing the Theme Builder Pack to a Site with Existing Theme Builder Templates

In most cases, we recommend testing out these new Theme Builder Packs on a testing or staging site so that you can import all the templates at once without having to worry about overriding existing templates or interfering with the current design of your live site. However, if you do want to import new Theme Builder templates to a live site with existing templates, you need to familiarize yourself with the options available.

Overriding the Default Website Template

There can only be one default website template on the Theme Builder. If you are importing the “All Templates.json” file or the “Default Website Template.json” file and you already have an existing default website template on your site, you will have to decide which default website template you want to keep. By default, the “Override the Default Website Template” option will be checked. So if you don’t want to keep the existing default website template, make sure to uncheck the option.

Overriding Existing Assignments

If you want the imported templates to override the existing assignments, make sure to keep the option “Allow import to override existing assignments” checked. If you don’t want the import to override the existing assignment, uncheck the option. If unchecked, the imported template assignments will resort to “unassigned” if there is an existing template with the same assignment.

Relinking your imported templates to the existing global header, body, and/or footer

These theme builder packs have a global header and footers linked to each of the templates. If you are importing one or more of the templates to a site that already has a global header and footer, you can choose to adopt the existing global header and footer on the import. This would basically allow you to import the body area of the new template and relink the body area to the global header and footer of the existing site.

To do this, make sure to choose the option “Relink them to this website’s global Header, Body, and/or Footer” when importing the template.

Importing Global Headers and Footers as Static Layouts

The global headers and footers linked to templates can be imported as static layouts without overriding existing global elements. So, if your site has an existing default website template with a Global header and footer, you can import a template that also has a global header and footer without overriding the existing global header and footer. All you need to do is select the option to import the global elements as static layouts. This means that the header and footer attached to the template will only be displayed on that individual template, not globally.

Quick Tip: Testing Out New Templates on Your Live Site

If you want to test out one of these Theme Builder Pack templates on your existing website to see how it looks without having to apply the template site-wide, you can import a new template (keeping its header and footer as static layouts) and assign it to one post/product/page/category on your site. This will allow you to see how the template will look with the new header and footer.

For example, let’s say you want to test a new Post Template on your site. To do this you can go to the Theme Builder and open the portability settings. Click the import tab and choose the post template JSON file. Make sure to uncheck the option “Allow import to override existing assignments” before you click the import button. Then check the option to import Global Items as static layouts.

Once the new template is imported, assign the template to a single post on your site.

Then go view the post live to see the result.

If you like the template and want to make it permanent, all you would need to do is assign the new post template to “All Posts” (overriding the current post template)
